Visit to Kanki Japanese House of Steaks

The timing of the visit and the timing of the post are so far apart due to a difficult schooling schedule, please bare with me readers/followers lol.
On the 18th of February the 2 Guys visited a Japanese steak house in durham on 15-501 where they cook it up in ya face and it was pretty lovely, the dress code was casual so we didn't stand out. We brought along a friend each to enjoy the entertainment & entree with us. The authenticity of the servers being japanese as well as the cook only made me feel like this was more than the average dining experience. Our server for the night was a sweet lady by the name of Trang, she came right out and offered everyone the Ribeye special for only.... $9.99! How can i say no to a deal, get real. Our dates placed their order first, then Kijuan & lastly I(i never know what i want until my hand is forced..smh). Trang quickly brought us our salad and japanese soup, may i say the soup DEFINITELY didn't look like anything I've ever seen before!! But it was very rich and worth the try and branch out from the every day normal american soup. The show our cook put on was pretty solid in my eyes, the fired up onions... tossing the pepper shakers ova da shoulder to the opposite hand for the ->NO LOOK<- catch, the cutting of the shrimp was extra extra smooth, i swear i need that knife set they use out there just incase.

The tapping of the pepper shaker to the spatula while using it was dope(i mad do that on my eggs now!!), popping the shrimp bowls into his hat was a neat trick.. it would've been funnier had he DROPPED one but aye. While there we took note of the birthday appreciation that they have for their guests, different than most restaurants though, they beat a drum and hum rather than singing off key or some wackness like that.

The meal was MORE than hearty and for filing if i may say so myself. It started with the soup & salad given earlier as well as the often topped off drinks (may i add that no one had to ask, the server noticed these things EARLY) Kijuan & I decided to try out the chop stix with sushi for the very first time. The complimentary sauce that came with the meal was a pretty flavorful green sauce and a slightly salty ginger sauce, which was a great compliment to the sushi appetizers we partook of. I don't believe I'll be getting well done beef when I return for a follow up visit, the meat becomes a tad dry but still tasty none the less.
To sum up the visit to Kanki I'd like to say the restaurant is very clean, authentic and I would recommend anyone to visit any location with advanced reservations first. With a 99% sanitation rating and pleasant service from the door to the main floor I must say Kanki Japanese steakhouse deserves 2 thumbs up from me. *kijuan's review still to come*

Jason's Deli

Today at about 2 o'clock kik da fur (kijuan) and I decided it was time to investigate a little bit.. putting our stomachs on the line for the investigative fun of blogging. The choice of dining was Jason's Deli at New Hope Commons shopping center had a VERY welcoming atmosphere with polite workers. I had been to this place once before with my mother but this was kik's first try of the deli. We both decided on the Beefeater (homo none) Po'Boy with extra oven roasted turkey, great decision by the way. I had mine topped with lettuce & tomatoes, the sandwich comes with chips an of course i had to get a drink to wash it all back. Kik added lettuce onions & pepper to his joint, not a bad idea ki! After the decision had been made I look at the register an see $10.75! ! ! I hope this sammish fills me up for that much cake!

The table was clean, the air was clean and all of this on a soggy rainy day.. looks like they've won me over already, or have they? The food came arrived, BLACKBERRY'S SWIFTLY PULLED OUT twitpic time! ! ! The sandwiches arrived warm with a small sized bowl of au jus juice/sauce that was like a broth but not watery.. like soy sauce but not salty! The first bite of the roast beef & turkey sandwich was niiccceee *in fabolous voice* but once we drizzled on some of that au jus juice/sauce they took it up a notch like! ! BAM! We spoke to our followers & chatted among our selves about the day an what not.. no a single complaint about the food the entire dine

To sum things up this was a pleasant stop for a easy lunch sandwich dine in. The price was a little higher than I'd like to pay for a sandwich but i would still return or recommend this location to others. I'll give this dining experience 1 strong thumb up, Kijuan decided it deserves 1 thumb up out of a possible 4 thumbs way up! So stay tuned for more reviews an remember you never know where your stomach will lead you on your quest to for-fill it! ! !

Reasoning for 2 guys in a restaurant

My roommate & I from freshman year in college have always enjoyed some of the same activities such as basketball, music, getting money, gettin' fresh & of course FOOD! So more recently Abdul, Kijuan & I began renting an apartment so you already know that some of these activities still ignite the fire to do more than just work an attend to college. I love to cook so that means I'm usually in the kitchen, if I'm not then Kijuan probably is. We also enjoy going out to dine from time to time.

Simply put Kijuan & I have this likeness for what we would consider 'out of the norm' dining decisions and since life comes at you fast you'll never know where hunger will find you dining at. The nice thing about that mysterious part of life is that we will try to keep you one step ahead of your stomach any where in the Triangle area. We are totally open to dining suggestions in the triangle area only for nowWe plan to bring you our menu picks, manager specials if any, sanitation ratings & if the 'thumbs up or thumbs down' of whether the place is worth going to or not. Stay tuned for all the fun and PLEASE LEAVE COMMENTS EITHER POSITIVE OR NEGATIVE.
